It’s been a little over two weeks since Jayson Tatum returned to the Boston Celtics<\/a> from his\u00a010-month layoff, and the Celtics haven’t skipped a beat<\/a>. They’ve gone\u00a06-3 since he came back, proving wrong critics who thought Tatum’s return would disrupt Boston’s impressive performance without him.<\/p>\n

Tatum’s transition back into the starting lineup has gone pretty smoothly, especially playing alongside Jaylen Brown again. According to Brown, that’s a testament to their good communication, including a key one-on-one conversation they had in front of the team before Tatum returned.<\/p>\n

“It was great. The initial conversation, having that communication,” Brown said<\/a> before Sunday’s game against the Minnesota Timberwolves. “Sometimes your communication falls off, so being able to get back on the same page is important.”<\/p>\n

Brown added that maintaining good communication will be critical for them going forward as they approach the playoffs and try to win another championship together.<\/p>\n

“It’s gonna take more communication as the year goes on. Things change…” Brown continued. “We just communicated that it’s gonna be me and you. Our communication sets the tone for the rest of the team, and we both gotta be better going forward if we want this thing to work.”<\/p>\n

Now in their ninth season together, their relationship and partnership are still evolving. Brown’s playing the best basketball of his career<\/a>, but continuing to make room for Tatum<\/a> and play off each other will be critical.<\/p>\n
