If the feds are having such a difficult time deporting all of the IRGC members, how about we citizens round up the entire Carney caucus, the heads of the various Immigration departments, and the lame judiciary routinely interfering with the deportation orders, and send them on a slow boat to Iran. They wouldn’t be getting deported, since that’s just about impossible these days. They would be on a fact-finding mission, to help them personally learn just what the IRGC is all about. What is the message to Canadian people? Well, I know that you people struggle to survive ,but it must please you to know that you supply my almost-$400,000 salary, and since that is not enough for my lifestyle, also my $130,000-a-year allowance so I can look good. I know you’re counting pennies and some of you are losing your homes and others can’t even afford to buy one, but I still wonder, how happy you must be for me, that I am able to buy a $1,100 pair of shoes, high-end designer outfits and live like royalty and you pay for it? And all that is nothing compared to over $26,000,0000 that it costs to run my office that does not produce anything, does not contribute anything and, if it would disappear tomorrow, nobody would even notice. Except me and a huge group of my employees, because they would have to find actual jobs like working Canadians.

Advertisement 5

This advertisement has not loaded yet, but your article continues below.

Article content

MICHAL SOCH

(We don’t mind our reps being well-paid, but it sometimes enters the realm of the ridiculous)

Democracy in peril

(Re: Editorial – ‘Longest ballot muddies electoral waters,’ Sun, March 21) Truer words were never spoken as it directly undermines free and fair elections! When we factor in the rise in floor-crossers willingly cancelling the wishes of their voters for their own personal gain, Canada’s very democracy is under serious attack! No wonder many Canadians are questioning the integrity of elections and the value of their vote! Willing to do virtually anything to win elections, the Liberal Party instituted the long ballot after trying everything else unsuccessfully to defeat Pierre Poilievre! Liberal governments have done nothing to stop foreign interference by China in federal elections, as Liberal candidates have been the beneficiaries! Then, unable to obtain a majority legitimately from the electorate, Carney will likely, for the first time in Canadian history, gain that by enticing floor-crossers. Canada no longer is in any position or has any credibility in criticizing validity of elections in other countries, thanks to power-hungry Liberals’ activities!

Advertisement 6

This advertisement has not loaded yet, but your article continues below.

Article content

LARRY COMEAU, Ottawa

(Not sure the Liberal party ‘instituted the long ballot,’ but they’ve certainly been a beneficiary)

Talk is cheap

(Re: ‘We will no longer rely on others’: Carney announces plan for $32 Billion in far north defence upgrades,’ calgarysun.com) As a former combat soldier in the Canadian army, I believe Carney’s latest big pledge when I see it.
