King answered yes to each question.

“I’m not satisfied that it’s necessary for Mr. King to be remanded to the Waterford Hospital based on just the few questions that I’ve had,” Goulding concluded.

The court scheduled another bail hearing for King on Friday. The Crown is once again opposed to his release.

In his decision two weeks ago, Wadden told King he was giving him one last shot, and urged him not to mess it up.

“If you return to custody, you will likely be in the position of having used your last chance,” Wadden told King. “Please don’t waste this chance.”

Police responded to a report of a break and enter in Victoria at 1:12 a.m. on Sunday, according to a release sent by the RCMP on Monday.

The homeowner identified the suspect as Justin King, police say.

Court documents filed on Monday morning shed some more light on the details of the alleged incident.

According to those documents, the extortion charge stems from allegations he attempted to “induce [a woman] by threats to engage in sexual intercourse.” It’s alleged he forcibly confined the same woman.

He’s also accused of breaking a list of five release conditions, including a no-contact order with the woman he’s alleged to have extorted and forcibly confined. It’s also alleged he broke a court-ordered curfew, and was in possession of a cellular device.

Download our free CBC News app to sign up for push alerts for CBC Newfoundland and Labrador.
