Isis Sio, 19, was placed into a medically induced coma following a brutal knockout she suffered on Saturday night.<\/p>\n
Sio was stopped by Jocelyn Camarillo just 78 seconds into their four-round light flyweight contest on a ProBoxTV card in San Bernardino, California.<\/p>\n

In the bout, Camarillo managed to back Sio onto the ring ropes and bring down Sio’s guard, at which point all it took was a clean combination on a defenseless Sio to leave her face-down on the canvas. Sio initially rose to her knees, hunched over the bottom ring rope, and then fell flat onto the canvas unconscious a few seconds later.<\/p>\n
Sio was stretchered out of the ring and rushed to the nearby Loma Linda University Health for emergency medical treatment, where she was in a coma.<\/p>\n
ProBoxTV said in a statement Sunday:<\/p>\n

Ms. Sio is currently in a medically induced coma.<\/p>\n

ProBoxTV confirmed on Monday that Sio is no longer in a coma and is now breathing on her own.<\/p>\n
It was Sio’s fourth professional fight. She entered the bout with a 1-2 record, having been knocked out in the opening round just 50 days before Saturday’s bout. Prior to that, Sio defeated debutant Katelyn Radtka this past November and lost her professional debut against Jessica Radtke Maltez in September.<\/p>\n

Sio was fighting at the 108-pound light flyweight limit for the first time in her career, having had her previous fights at the 115-pound super flyweight division and the 118-pound bantamweight class.<\/p>\n
Her opponent, Camarillo, who is signed with Jake Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions, was 5-0 heading into the contest, having never scored a knockout.<\/p>\n
