Vancouver rockers bringing full-sound experience to Revelstoke stage<\/p>\n

Crowned \u201cBest in Vancouver\u201d by Live Acts Canada, the five-piece band Spendo is an amazing Vancouver rock \u2018n\u2019 roll group who take the Revelstoke stage this Saturday night at Traverse.<\/p>\n
Before coming to know Spendo, I decided two years ago to attend their debut show in Revy after watching a couple videos. Just a few songs into their set at Traverse, I was blown away at their level of musical talent and fantastic harmonies, with all five band members chiming in on vocals.<\/p>\n
A key element to creating a full sound for a band includes keyboards, which Erik Reimers brings to the stage by filling in gaps between the riffs and jams of base and guitar.<\/p>\n
Drawing a large crowd to the dance floor, Spendo treated the nightclub to a terrific combo of originals and cover tunes by groups such as Aerosmith, the Eagles, Fleetwood Mac, Steely Dan, Steve Miller Band, and Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019re definitely going to be doing Fly Like an Eagle by Steve Miller Band,\u201d lead guitarist Bradley Lambert said. \u201cWe\u2019re going to do a Grateful Dead cover.\u201d <\/p>\n
READ: Revelstoke train museum, art gallery open door for easier visitor access<\/a><\/p>\n He told Black Press Media the band has been working on a new album, while touring between eight different B.C. towns this winter, and aims to deliver a 50-50 show Saturday of old and new songs of its own.<\/p>\n Lead singer and guitarist Spencer Tomlinson sports that rockstar look with his long hair, plus an uncanny resemblance to the former frontman for Los Angeles rock band Blind Melon. Spendo delivered an incredible version of their hit 1992 song No Rain.<\/p>\n With ski season soon wrapping up, there won\u2019t be many chances to see a band of Spendo\u2019s calibre in town until REVY.Live Outside returns in July. The band has enjoyed past visits to Revelstoke enough that Reimers ended up sticking around town to enjoy the ski bum life.<\/p>\n \u201cWe just left him up there skiing for a couple weeks,\u201d Lambert joked.<\/p>\n The band hits the stage 9 p.m. March 28 alongside Ontario rock, rhythm and country band the Marauders, and will play out Traverse until closing at 2 a.m.<\/p>\n Tickets can be purchased for pre-sale on Spendo\u2019s website, or at the door Saturday night.
