Vancouver FC\u2019s newest addition has impressive resume<\/p>\n

Lys Mousset, the newest addition to the Vancouver FC roster, last played for League of Ireland side Bohemians FC.<\/p>\n
The 30-year-old centre-forward from France signed in January 2025 with Bohemian FC, but in July of the same year, after nine matches and one goal, the club announced the termination of his contract by mutual agreement.<\/p>\n
Monday, March 23, VFC announced Mousset\u2019s signing, a contract guaranteed through 2026 with a club option for 2027.<\/p>\n
Now that he\u2019s returned to the field, Mousset is aiming to get back to match fitness over the next few weeks, as the team prepares for the 2026 season.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m getting there,\u201d Mousset said. \u201cI\u2019m trying to feel the ball, to play with the team, and it\u2019s very good. I\u2019m feeling very good, and I\u2019ll see if I can progress during the next couple weeks. We\u2019ll see at the start of the season if I can get some minutes, because I came in a bit late compared to the other people.\u201d<\/p>\n
He added that Martin Nash and the Vancouver coaching staff \u201cjust want to push me to the best level I was. We agree on that, and we know if I\u2019m on the best level, I can help.\u201d<\/p>\n
Mousset had five seasons in the English Premier League with Bournemouth and Sheffield United. With 99 appearances in the competition between 2016 and 2021, Mousset has more experience at the world\u2019s highest level than any other player in the CPL.<\/p>\n
He was Sheffield United\u2019s joint-leading scorer in the 2019-20 season, finding the net six times as they finished ninth in the Premier League.<\/p>\n
VFC\u2019s home opener is on Saturday, April 4, when they\u2019ll take on the Halifax Wanderers to begin the 2026 campaign at Willoughby Park at 4 p.m.<\/p>\n
