Then in an update just after 9 a.m., BC Ferries said that 8 a.m. sailing was cancelled outright, as was the 10 a.m. sailing departing from Swartz Bay.<\/p>\n<p>The 9 a.m. departure from Tsawwasseen to Swartz Bay is expected to sail as usual, however.<\/p>\n<p>BC Ferries says the two cancellations are due to an issue with the \u201cpitch control\u201d onboard the Queen of New Westminster vessel.<\/p>\n<p>Because of the issue onboard the 62-year-old vessel, BC Ferries says more sailings are at risk of cancellation on Tuesday. The sailings at risk of cancellation as of 9:15 a.m. are:<\/p>\n<p>Noon departing Tsawwassen<\/p>\n<p>2 p.m. departing Swartz Bay<\/p>\n<p>4 p.m. departing Tsawwassen<\/p>\n<p>6 p.m. departing Swartz Bay<\/p>\n<p>8 p.m. departing Tsawwassen<\/p>\n<p>10 p.m. departing Swartz Bay<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf you have a booking on one of these cancelled sailings, you will hear from our Customer Service Centre who will let you know if we can fit you on an alternate sailing later today, or if your booking must be cancelled,\u201d said BC Ferries in its notice at 9:15 a.m.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn the case of a cancellation, we will refund your fees and\/or fares.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>BC Ferries says more about its compensation police can be <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bcferries.com\/contact-us\/helping-you-during-a-service-disruption\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">found on its website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the latest updates on ferry cancellations can be found on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bcferries.com\/current-conditions\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">BC Ferries website here<\/a>, or by calling the company at 1-888-223-3779.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe know you have important places to be.
