\n President Donald Trump alluded to a goodwill gesture from the Iranians that he described as a mystery \u201cpresent,\u201d suggesting that the gift has helped with diplomatic efforts to end the war.\n <\/p>\n
\n \u201cThey gave us a present, and the present arrived today. It was a very big present, worth a tremendous amount of money, and I\u2019m not going to tell you what the present is, but it was a very significant prize,\u201d Trump told reporters in the Oval Office on Tuesday.\n <\/p>\n
\n The present, Trump said, was \u201coil and gas related.\u201d\n <\/p>\n
\n \u201cIt was related to the flow, to the Strait,\u201d the president said, referring to the Strait of Hormuz, a critical oil thoroughfare that\u2019s been effectively shut down.\n <\/p>\n
\n He said the gift indicated that the Iranian negotiators talking with his administration were willing to follow through on their promises.\n <\/p>\n
\n \u201cThey gave it to us, and they said they were going to give it, so that meant one thing to me: we\u2019re dealing with the right people,\u201d Trump said, later adding, \u201cThey\u2019re the only ones that could have done it.\u201d\n <\/p>\n
\n And he described what\u2019s happened in Iran as \u201cregime change\u201d for the country.\n <\/p>\n
\n \u201cWe have, really, regime change.
