{"id":558739,"date":"2026-03-25T02:03:11","date_gmt":"2026-03-25T02:03:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/558739\/"},"modified":"2026-03-25T02:03:11","modified_gmt":"2026-03-25T02:03:11","slug":"top-five-finish-for-racers-golf-in-volunteer-state","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/558739\/","title":{"rendered":"Top Five Finish for Racers Golf in Volunteer State"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Murray State men&#8217;s golf finished the Austin Peay Intercollegiate in fifth place at Greystone Golf Club in Dickson, Tennessee. <a href=\"https:\/\/goracers.com\/sports\/mens-golf\/roster\/rocco-zakutney\/11274\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"11274\" target=\"_blank\">Rocco Zakutney<\/a> led the Racers with a ninth place finish individually after shooting a two under in the final round on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>The Racers finished the tournament with a 298+284+290=872 as a team. Three Racers finished inside the top 25 in the field with <a href=\"https:\/\/goracers.com\/sports\/mens-golf\/roster\/lennon-albans\/11267\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"11267\" target=\"_blank\">Lennon Albans<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/goracers.com\/sports\/mens-golf\/roster\/trey-wall\/11271\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"11271\" target=\"_blank\">Trey Wall<\/a> joining Zakutney.\u00a0&#13;\n<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I loved how the guys responded from our last event,&#8221; said Coach <a href=\"https:\/\/goracers.com\/sports\/mens-golf\/roster\/coaches\/jacob-miller\/1949\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"1949\" target=\"_blank\">Jacob Miller<\/a>.\u00a0&#8220;We did not have our best stuff by any means but in some cold, windy conditions, they stayed in it mentally from beginning to end for a respectable finish.\u00a0It&#8217;s time to tighten some things up and get ready for our only home event of the year in 2 weeks, the Racer Intercollegiate.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>MSU will host the Racer Intercollegiate at the Paducah Country Club on April 6 and 7.<\/p>\n<p>.Follow the Racers on Twitter (@MSURacers), Instagram (@RacersAthletics) and Facebook to stay up-to-date on all that is happening with Murray State Athletics.
