(Photo: Food Basics)<\/p>\n<p>There\u2019s a new, 32,000 square foot grocery store opening this week in Brampton.<\/p>\n<p>Canadian-based grocery retailer <a href=\"https:\/\/www.insauga.com\/canadian-owned-grocery-store-closing-for-move-to-new-location-in-brampton\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Food Basics is closing its store on Bartley Bull Parkway early at 5 p.m. on Wednesday<\/a>, but shoppers won\u2019t have to wait long for a replacement because a brand new Food Basics store will open the next day just a few kilometres away.<\/p>\n<p>The new store is the second of eight opening in 2026, The entire team from the Bartley Bull location is moving to the new store along with 40 new team members, bringing the staff count to 90.<\/p>\n<p>This new, 32,000 square foot store at 400 Queen Street West is the second of eight new Food Basics set to open in 2026 and will have a \u201ctailored product selection to reflect the diversity of Southern Ontario.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Customers will be able to shop for high-quality, budget-friendly Irr\u00e9sistible and Selection products, locally sourced products, fresh meat and produce, along with fresh BBQ chicken, Food Basics said in a statement.
