We have 11 games left and we have to be better than this.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Detroit is one point behind both the Senators and New York Islanders.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe were a little bit sluggish for whatever reason,\u201d Red Wings coach Todd McLellan said. \u201cWe put pucks in the areas we wanted them, but then we weren\u2019t winning the battles to give ourselves a chance.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Red Wings appeared to take a 1-0 lead on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nhl.com\/player\/alex-debrincat-8479337\" title=\"Alex DeBrincat\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Alex DeBrincat<\/a>\u2019s power-play goal at 15:35 of the first period, but the play was overturned after the Senators successfully challenged for offside.<\/p>\n<p>Tkachuk\u2019s power-play goal then put the Senators ahead 1-0 at 17:15. As Gibson got into position to stop <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nhl.com\/player\/tim-stutzle-8482116\" title=\"Tim Stutzle\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Tim Stutzle<\/a>\u2019s shot, Tkachuk tipped it past his blocker.
