Winning a <a class=\"relative z-1 text-blue-mid hover:shadow-lightmode\" data-link-type=\"article-body\" href=\"https:\/\/www.inquirer.com\/topic\/world-series\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">World Series<\/a> \u201cchanges everything.\u201d Now their <a class=\"relative z-1 text-blue-mid hover:shadow-lightmode\" data-link-type=\"article-body\" href=\"https:\/\/www.inquirer.com\/phillies\/phillies\/roster-core-world-series-2026-season-preview-20260325.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.inquirer.com\/phillies\/phillies\/roster-core-world-series-2026-season-preview-20260325.html\">legacies depend on it.<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"inq-p text-primary  \">The initial reaction to the Eagles trading a 2027 seventh-round pick to Carolina for veteran quarterback Andy Dalton was that Tanner McKee would be out. <\/p>\n<p class=\"inq-p text-primary  \">But acquiring Dalton might be more significant for <a class=\"relative z-1 text-blue-mid hover:shadow-lightmode\" data-link-type=\"article-body\" href=\"https:\/\/www.inquirer.com\/topic\/jalen-hurts\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Jalen Hurts<\/a> and the Eagles\u2019 offseason offensive reconstruction, as they look to make more of an effort to put experienced <a class=\"relative z-1 text-blue-mid hover:shadow-lightmode\" data-link-type=\"article-body\" href=\"https:\/\/www.inquirer.com\/eagles\/andy-dalton-tanner-mckee-jalen-hurts-implications-20260325.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.inquirer.com\/eagles\/andy-dalton-tanner-mckee-jalen-hurts-implications-20260325.html\">quarterbacking minds around Hurts.<\/a> <\/p>\n<p class=\"inq-p text-primary  \"><a class=\"relative z-1 text-blue-mid hover:shadow-lightmode\" data-link-type=\"article-body\" href=\"https:\/\/www.inquirer.com\/topic\/jared-mccain\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Jared McCain<\/a> had a subtle desire to prove the 76ers wrong, but his first game back in Philly since being traded to the defending champions in early February <a class=\"relative z-1 text-blue-mid hover:shadow-lightmode\" data-link-type=\"article-body\" href=\"https:\/\/www.inquirer.com\/sixers\/jared-mccain-trade-sixers-thunder-philly-daryl-morey-trade-deadline-20260325.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.inquirer.com\/sixers\/jared-mccain-trade-sixers-thunder-philly-daryl-morey-trade-deadline-20260325.html\">did not exactly bring closure.<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"inq-p text-primary  \">There may come a day when it is finally revealed what the Sixers were thinking when they dealt McCain. That day was not Monday. We could easily look back on <a class=\"relative z-1 text-blue-mid hover:shadow-lightmode\" data-link-type=\"article-body\" href=\"https:\/\/www.inquirer.com\/topic\/daryl-morey\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Daryl Morey<\/a>\u2019s decision as one of those unpopular moves that ultimately validates the mover\u2019s convictions. It still comes down to this: They\u2019d better be right, <a class=\"relative z-1 text-blue-mid hover:shadow-lightmode\" data-link-type=\"article-body\" href=\"https:\/\/www.inquirer.com\/sports\/sixers-jared-mccain-trade-deadline-thunder-daryl-morey-20260324.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.inquirer.com\/sports\/sixers-jared-mccain-trade-deadline-thunder-daryl-morey-20260324.html\">writes David Murphy.<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"inq-p text-primary  \">And while there wasn\u2019t any acknowledgment of McCain on the scoreboard, fans wore his jersey and brought signs to celebrate his <a class=\"relative z-1 text-blue-mid hover:shadow-lightmode\" data-link-type=\"article-body\" href=\"https:\/\/www.inquirer.com\/sixers\/jared-mccain-trade-sixers-okc-thunder-daryl-morey-20260325.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.inquirer.com\/sixers\/jared-mccain-trade-sixers-okc-thunder-daryl-morey-20260325.html\">time with the team.<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"inq-p text-primary  \"><a class=\"relative z-1 text-blue-mid hover:shadow-lightmode\" data-link-type=\"article-body\" href=\"https:\/\/www.inquirer.com\/topic\/noah-cates\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Noah Cates<\/a> is one goal away from tying his career high from last season (16), and one point away from besting his previous career high of 38 points from 2022-23. <\/p>\n<p class=\"inq-p text-primary  \">His overall game has taken off, and the 27-year-old\u2019s influence with the Flyers has increased compared to recent seasons.
