Zayne Parekh<\/a> scored the tying goal in the third period for the Flames (30-34-7), who have won a season-high four straight games. Dustin Wolf<\/a>\u00a0made 23 saves.<\/p>\n

Yegor Sharangovich<\/a> scored the deciding goal in the fourth round of the shootout when he attempted to make a move to his backhand but instead slid the puck through the legs of Kings goalie Darcy Kuemper<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m sure he fessed up that he didn\u2019t mean to do that,\u201d Huska said. \u201cI think he was trying to pull it to his backhand, but hey, we\u2019ll take it. It\u2019s a big goal.\u201d<\/p>\n

Quinton Byfield<\/a> scored twice for the Kings (28-25-18), who have lost four straight games (0-1-3). Kuemper made 21 saves.<\/p>\n

The Kings are three points behind the Nashville Predators for the second wild card into the Stanley Cup Playoffs from the Western Conference. Nashville won 6-3 against the San Jose Sharks on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe threw one away, in my opinion,\u201d Kings interim coach D.J. Smith said. \u201cWe\u2019ve got one more game on this trip (at the Vancouver Canucks on Thursday). We need two points, and the moral victories (don\u2019t) help tonight. We wanted two points.\u201d<\/p>\n

Byfield gave the Kings a 1-0 lead at 2:35 of the first period. Byfield dragged his back foot to stay onside, took a pass from Joel Armia<\/a>\u00a0and skated around Flames defenseman Hunter Brzustewicz<\/a>. He then made a move to his backhand and tucked a shot through Wolf\u2019s five-hole.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s played really well,\u201d Smith said of Byfield. \u201cHe\u2019s been our best player. He\u2019s scoring. Every night he\u2019s dangerous and he continues to be skating.
