Gillian Anderson promises that Ryan Coogler\u2019s reboot of \u201cThe X-Files\u201d will be worth fans\u2019 time.<\/p>\n
While talking at Awesome Con<\/a>, Anderson gushed about the \u201cSinners\u201d director\u2019s work on the new \u201cX-Files\u201d project. While the new show stars Danielle Deadwyler, talks between Coogler and the \u201cX-Files\u201d alum have happened and Anderson has seen a glimpse of what the plans are.<\/p>\n \u201cWe\u2019ve had a few conversations,\u201d\u00a0Anderson said. \u201cHe\u2019s such a cool guy, and so talented. And the pilot script is really good. I would say, have an open mind and give it a chance, because it\u2019s gonna be f\u2013king cool. It really is.\u201d<\/p>\n Anderson starred as Agent Dana Scully opposite David Duchovney\u2019s Fox Mulder \u2013 two FBI agents who investigate the weird corners of the United States, from alien conspiracies to monsters to experiments gone wrong. She returned to the role once already back during the 2016 revival and seems open to another go at her most iconic role.<\/p>\n Last year, Coogler explained his own excitement about getting the reboot off the ground while talking with the Last Podcast on the Left<\/a> podcast. Coogler \u2013 who is already set to write and direct the pilot \u2013 wants to bring the scares back to the show.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019ve been excited about that for a long time, and I\u2019m fired up to get back to it. Some of those episodes, if we do our jobs right, will be really f\u2013king scary,\u201d\u00a0Coogler said. \u201cWe\u2019re gonna try to make something really great, and really be something for the real\u00a0\u2018X-Files\u2019\u00a0fans, and maybe find some new ones.\u201d<\/p>\n Back in February 2024, \u201cX-Files\u201d creator Chris Carter gave Coogler his blessing to move forward with the series, noting that he won\u2019t be involved with it but will be its \u201ccheerleader.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cThey are free to do with it what they believe.
