Ithaca, N.Y. \u2013 The Ithaca College women’s tennis team registered a 7-0 win over Le Moyne College on Wednesday at the Reis Tennis Center. Cornell won each match in the singles competition in straight sets. Fan defeated Alvarez, 6-1, 6-0, at the sixth spot for the first win. Gelber followed with a 6-1, 6-0 victory at the third position over Simeonova. Ryndin clinched the match with a 6-1, 6-2 win over Sanchez Jimenez at the top spot. Marica recorded back-to-back scores of 6-3 at the fifth position over Raiss. Sage Loudon was a 6-3, 6-2 winner over Fernando at the second spot. Baker completed the sweep with a 6-1, 6-4 victory at the fourth position over Casares.

\nThe Big Red started the match by collecting the point in the doubles competition. Victoria Zhao and Tanya Fan earned the first win, 6-1, at the third position over senior Emma Sanchez Jimenez<\/a> (Marbella, Spain\/Victoria Kent Marbella\/Eastern Florida State College\/Carson-Newman) and junior Lilia Raiss<\/a> (Temara, Morocco\/Descartes). Martina Marica and Michelle Ryndin clinched the point with a 6-4 victory at the top spot over junior Ella Fernando<\/a> (Manchester, England\/Stonyhurst College) and Paula Casares<\/a> (A Coruna, Spain\/Colegio Maristas Cristo Rey). Emma Baker and Dylan Gelber had a 5-1 lead at the second position over seniors Stella Simeonova<\/a> (Sofia, Bulgaria\/National Gymnasium of Mathematics and Natural Sciences) and Alicia Alvarez<\/a> (Madrid, Spain\/IES Ortega y Gasset) when the point was clinched.<\/p>\n
