A city employee told the Cloverdale Reporter all programs are accessible if someone has a City of Surrey account—a “MySurrey” account.

“We have many different programs we offer across all our different City of Surrey facilities,” the employee said. “Not all the programs are available at every location, but we have a guide that list the programs and where they’re available.”

She added that for a $30 membership—good for one year—seniors 55-plus can access all of the programs at all rec. centres and other facilities. Those include: Cloverdale Recreation Centre, Chuck Bailey Recreation Centre, Clayton Community Centre, Fleetwood Community Centre, Fraser Heights Recreation Centre, Guildford Recreation Centre, Newton Senior Centre, North Surrey Sport and Ice Complex, South Surrey Recreation and Arts Centre, Surrey Arts Centre, and Surrey Sport and Leisure Complex.

“There are several programs offered throughout the week at different rec. centres,” she noted. “They are all quite popular.”

More than 70 drop-in programs are available across 11 city facilities over the course of the week. The lion’s share or programs are available Monday to Friday. Only four programs are available on weekends. These programs can all be found in the Seniors Activities and Drop-In Schedules guide. Centre, there are 15 drop-in programs available Monday to Friday. These include things like: bingo, guitar classes, cribbage, mahjong, poker, and many others.

There are also programs available that are not drop-in, such as indoor pickleball, but these need to be signed up for ahead of time.

“The Cloverdale programs are pretty popular,” she added. “Our most popular signups are cribbage, poker tournaments, wood carving, mahjong, but in reality they’re all usually pretty full. Pickleball fills up in about 3 minutes.”

She said people can call in or sign up online through their City of Surrey account. To get an account, people can sign up on surrey.ca, visitor a rec. centre and sign up at the front desk, or call into one of the rec. centres and do it over the phone.

“Once you have an account online, then you can set up a membership,” she said. “You’ll need an address, birthday, first and last name, phone number.”

For more info, visit surrey.ca. and click on “MySurrey” in the top right corner to set up an account.

City of Surrey hosts many programs for those 55-plus Published 10:00 pm Wednesday, March 25, 2026 The City…

[194299
49,48,87674
post-561612","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-surrey","tag-ca","tag-canada","tag-surrey
["GET
