WWE

SmackDown star Tama Tonga has issued a statement after he was fined by WWE last week over a video he posted on social media.

The video showed a ‘behind the scenes’ shot of preparations before SmackDown with talent and producers around ringside.

Tonga has now issued a comment on social media, stating:

Thanks for joining the live.

As addressed, yes I was fined – deserved.

I knew better- a careless mistake. -Lesson learned.

Take the hit and move on. Back to work.

During his aforementioned live stream today, he said:

“It’s all good. Had to go to my happy place after that shenanigans. Had to go to the world’s happiest place to get myself smiling again.

“Nah, I’ve been smiling. I think that’s the biggest thing – when you get hit with something, you just take the hit and keep on moving. Can’t let that bring you down, you’ve just gotta keep on moving.

“Am I in the doghouse? I’ve been in the doghouse my whole life! No getting out of the doghouse. I move in life like I’m in the doghouse always, because I don’t give a rat’s.”

If you use this transcription or any portion of it, please credit WrestleTalk.com and link to this page.

Was WWE Wrong To Fine Tama Tonga?

WWE fining Tama Tonga over his video led to questions about why the company would restrict talent from posting behind the scenes content when things like WWE Unreal exist.

Ultimately, it appears WWE wants to have the control over the behind the scenes content that gets put out. While Unreal is billed as a look backstage, it ultimately is a show constructed and edited by WWE to show people what they want to show people.

If talent start posting similar content, WWE doesn’t have the control that it wants, and ultimately, that appears to be the message here.

To make sure you stay up to date with all the biggest wrestling and WrestleTalk news, follow us on Threads by clicking this link!

![""]("https://www.newsbeep.com/ca/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/wrestling-masterclass-9-stars-webp-768x127.webp.webp")
