The Montreal Canadiens’ goaltender, Jakub Dobes, will no longer be available to answer questions from reporters until further notice.

Several observers had noticed his absence during recent media scrums in the team’s locker room.

Yet, the young goalie is known as one of the most entertaining, sensitive, and endearing players on the roster.

He’s always full of emotion and delivers refreshing answers, as seen during his recent on-ice interview with Marc Denis.

Faced with this unusual silence, several rumors began circulating regarding the organization’s motives.

Some wrongly believed that management was trying to prevent him from straying from the usual “script.”

Journalist Jean-Nicolas Blanchet, from TVA Sports, set the record straight regarding that theory.

The Canadiens’ management has absolutely nothing to do with this decision and actually appreciates the contagious energy of its goaltender.

Why is Jakub Dobes taking a break from the media?

In reality, it’s Jakub Dobes himself who requested this break for his own personal well-being.

Although he appears very comfortable in front of cameras, the exercise makes him extremely nervous and represents a real internal battle on a daily basis.

Wanting to be original, likable, and avoid clichés creates significant anxiety for the young man, especially after games.

Admitting such vulnerability takes a great deal of courage.

The TVA Sports journalist even described this realization as a major sign of maturity, highlighting a positive evolution regarding mental health in the NHL.

Dobes has therefore decided to focus 100% of his energy and mindset on his performance in net.

Montreal fans will certainly understand this wise decision and will continue to support him accordingly!
