The Ottawa Senators<\/a> will be without defenceman Thomas Chabot<\/a> for the remainder of the regular season and potentially well into the postseason, should the team overcome their rash of injuries to make the playoffs.<\/p>\n Chabot had surgery on his right arm Thursday and is expected to miss anywhere from four-to-eight weeks. The first round of the playoffs is set to begin in just over three weeks on April 18. <\/p>\n Chabot has seven goals and 31 points in 55 games this season while averaging 22:34 of ice time. <\/p>\n The 29-year-old sustained the injury on a cross-check from New York Rangers<\/a> captain J.T. Miller<\/a>. Fellow defenceman Lassi Thomson<\/a> was also injured in the first period of the 2-1 win, with head coach Travis Green<\/a> stating postgame that they would \u201cboth be out for a while.\u201d<\/p>\n With veteran Nick Jensen<\/a> on injured reserve, the Senators are currently without five defencemen amid their playoff push, including ice-time leader Jake Sanderson<\/a>.<\/p>\n Green said Thursday that Thomson is just more than day-to-day, while Sanderson will be day-to-day beyond Friday.
