Low-income riders on Brampton Transit can get half-off passes using their PRESTO cards starting next month.<\/p>\n

The discounts are part of the Affordable Transit Program, which will be expanding to include more residents starting in April.<\/p>\n

As of April 1, eligible riders will get a 50 per cent subsidy on single PRESTO fares when travelling on Brampton Transit routes.<\/p>\n

With the new subsidy, adult fares will cost $1.78. Youth fares will be $1.48, while a senior fare is available to Caledon residents for $0.93 per ride.<\/p>\n

To be eligible, applicants must be Canadian citizens who live in either Brampton, Caledon or Mississauga. Newcomers can apply with proof of permanent residency, sponsorship, or refugee claimant.<\/p>\n

All applicants must be older than 20 years of age.<\/p>\n
