\n\tJohn Leguizamo<\/a> had a few words for Dean Cain<\/a> after the former Superman actor shared that he plans to be sworn in as an Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cWhat kind of loser volunteers to be an ICE officer?\u201d Leguizamo said in a front-facing camera video posted to his Instagram<\/a> on Friday. \u201cWhat a moron. Dean Cain, your pronouns are has\/been.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tOff of Warner Bros. and DC Studios\u2019 \u201cSuperman\u201d opening at the box office in July, Cain has ridden on the coattails of his most memorable role\u2019s renewed relevance and engaged in his biggest wave of press engagement in some years. Before the reboot\u2019s release, Cain, who portrayed the Man of Steel in the \u201990s television series \u201cLois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman,\u201d criticized <\/a>its director James Gunn for calling the superhero an \u201cimmigrant\u201d and alleged that Hollywood had made the character \u201cwoke.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\tOn Wednesday, Cain made an appearance on Fox News and stated that he plans<\/a> to be \u201csworn in as an ICE agent, ASAP.\u201d He argued that the U.S. \u201cwas built on patriots stepping up, whether it was popular or not,\u201d and that joining ICE was \u201cthe right thing\u201d to do.<\/p>\n

\n\tLeguizamo has long been an advocate for Latino representation in Hollywood, telling People magazine in 2020, \u201cWe\u2019re less than 1% of the stories told by Hollywood and streaming media and networks when we\u2019re almost 20% of the population, 25% of the U.S. box office. I just feel like it\u2019s such a damage to kids not to see themselves reflected back in positive ways.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tIn July, Congress approved a massive spike to ICE funding, expanding its annual budget from $8 billion to roughly $28 billion. It will become the highest funded law enforcement agency in the federal government. On Wednesday, ICE announced that it would remove its age limit for applicants, which had previously only accepted individuals between the ages of 21 and 40. <\/p>\n
