In the fall, she frequently alluded to her next chapter in interviews, where she claimed that 2026 will be a \u201cbusy year<\/a>\u201d for her and that she was currently working on the new album<\/a>. She said<\/a> she was enjoying sinking her teeth into \u201cnew songs and new sounds,\u201d while one of her Instagram posts showed her in the studio<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tThen, in January, Rodrigo kicked off the new year with a cryptic photo<\/a> of a golf cart, which had the words \u201cthe album\u201d written across it. Until then, follow the stars, your guides, and your heart, knowing that the best is yet to come.\u201d It\u2019s important to read this closely, as \u201cjust after the pink moon\u201d is April 3, which falls on a Friday \u2014 typically a popular release day for musicians.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tRodrigo may have referenced the pink moon because she famously loves astrology. Or maybe it\u2019s because she knows her music history, and is a fan of Nick Drake. The English singer-songwriter released his third and final album, Pink Moon<\/a>, in 1972, two years before he died in obscurity. Decades later, he gained a cult following<\/a>, especially with younger generations, and his introspective, gorgeously gentle gems are the exact kind Rodrigo would like. \u201cSaw it written, and I saw it say\/Pink moon is on its way,\u201d Drake sang.
