Donshay White<\/p>\n
Amateur MMA fighter Donshay White died Saturday night after collapsing backstage at Louisville\u2019s Expo Five during the Hardrock MMA 90 event. The 37-year-old from Radcliff, Kentucky, had just finished a heavyweight bout against Ricky Muse when the incident occurred. The fight was stopped two minutes into the second round after a series of punches from Muse. Moments later in the locker room, White collapsed from what was believed to be a cardiac event.<\/p>\n

Hardrock MMA released a statement mourning his passing, saying, \u201cHardrock MMA joins the entire MMA community in mourning Donshay White\u2026 we always have and we will continue to put our fighters\u2019 safety above all else.\u201d White was a newcomer to the sport, having only one prior amateur fight in 2015, which he won by knockout.<\/p>\n
Shigetoshi Kotari<\/p>\n
Japanese boxing is mourning the loss of Shigetoshi Kotari, who passed away from a brain injury suffered during his August 2 fight with Yamato Hata in Tokyo. The 28-year-old collapsed shortly after their 12-round battle for Hata\u2019s Oriental and Pacific Boxing Federation junior lightweight title. He was rushed to the hospital and underwent emergency surgery for a subdural hematoma, but never recovered.Kotari, from Nagoya, had been on a winning streak, claiming back-to-back unanimous decision victories to earn his shot at the belt. Nigerian boxer Olanrewaju has tragically died after collapsing during a light heavyweight fight in Accra, Ghana. The 40-year-old, a former Nigerian and West African champion, went down in the third round against Ghana\u2019s Jon Mbanugu at the Bukom Boxing Arena. Witnesses say his collapse did not appear to be from a punch.
