<\/p>\nKhabib Nurmagomedov hasn\u2019t shifted his position on women\u2019s MMA since stepping away from the sport.<\/p>\n
The former lightweight champion was never shy about expressing his disinterest in the women\u2019s side of the sport during his fighting days.<\/p>\n

Nurmagomedov, who follows Islam closely, spoke about it again during a Sun Hills Development event in Phuket, Thailand.<\/p>\n

During the event, a woman from the audience asked Nurmagomedov to share his thoughts on the growing presence of women\u2019s MMA.<\/p>\n
The 29-0 UFC great didn\u2019t hold back in his answer, admitting he knew it would draw criticism.<\/p>\n
He continued: \u201cHow do you personally feel when you go to the gym and get hit in the face? You haven\u2019t been hit. But you don\u2019t need that. But there are women who choose this sport. It\u2019s their choice. They chose it. If you ask me, I wouldn\u2019t choose this sport for women.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s brutal even for men, first of all. For women it\u2019s\u2026 I don\u2019t even consider it.\u201d<\/p>\n
Nurmagomedov also added that although he respects any woman who wants to learn self-defence or train in martial arts, he still has trouble with seeing female fighters compete professionally.<\/p>\n
\u201cBut for me, it\u2019s still something wild when a woman gets hit in the face,\u201d Khabib Nurmagomedov said.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhether it\u2019s a man hitting or a woman hitting a woman. Especially if a woman is a mother, or has a couple of kids.\u201d<\/p>\n
He then went into further detail regarding gender roles \u2013 noting that he doesn\u2019t feel they should be mixed up and prefers when both men and women stick to what they\u2019re naturally good at by design.<\/p>\n

There are still many fans who don\u2019t agree with it, though. One of those is Khabib Nurmagomedov.<\/p>\n
While the vast majority of people support women\u2019s MMA, there will always be those who don\u2019t \u2013 and Khabib is one of them.<\/p>\n
The UFC Hall of Famer spoke about it at an event in Phuket, Thailand, earlier this year.<\/p>\n
He said: \u201cI just have an opinion on women\u2019s fighting that\u2019s not going to change.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cBut for me, it\u2019s still something wild when a woman gets hit in the face. Whether it\u2019s a man hitting or a woman hitting a woman. Especially if a woman is a mother or has a couple of kids. She spends the whole day getting hit in the face and then comes home. Where I grew up, I didn\u2019t see anything like that.\u201d<\/p>\n
