{"id":565484,"date":"2026-03-28T00:42:15","date_gmt":"2026-03-28T00:42:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/565484\/"},"modified":"2026-03-28T00:42:15","modified_gmt":"2026-03-28T00:42:15","slug":"denise-richards-ex-aaron-ordered-to-pay-6-figure-sum-to-a-widower","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/565484\/","title":{"rendered":"Denise Richards&#8217; Ex Aaron Ordered to Pay 6-Figure Sum to a Widower"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>                  <a class=\"js-click-image js-track-link image-lightbox-preview\" data-node-ref=\"tmz:image-asset:image_jpg_20260327_9e3342987d794065ab1697f0a51df1b5\" data-container-ref=\"tmz:article:bcf000ef-4844-409a-b7de-2b72293e2074\" data-context=\"{&quot;section&quot;:&quot;permalink&quot;,&quot;name&quot;:&quot;image&quot;}\"><\/p>\n<p>                          <img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"eager\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/9e3342987d794065ab1697f0a51df1b5_md.jpg\" alt=\"aaron phypers and denise richards getty 1\" width=\"728\" height=\"546\" class=\"img-fluid image-block__img-fluid img-aspect-auto\"\/><\/p>\n<p>                  <\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tmz.com\/people\/denise-richards\/\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Denise Richards<\/a>&#8216; estranged husband, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tmz.com\/people\/aaron-phypers\/\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Aaron Phypers<\/a>, is now on the hook for a hefty sum after failing to respond to a lawsuit &#8230; TMZ has learned.<\/p>\n<p>According to court docs obtained by TMZ, a Los Angeles County Superior Court judge granted a default judgment in the amount of approximately $160K against Aaron.<\/p>\n<p>The case was brought by a widower named Rupert Perry, who says he lost his wife, Elina Katsioula-Beall, in May 2024 following a battle with sarcoma cancer.<\/p>\n<p>                  <a class=\"js-click-image js-track-link image-lightbox-preview\" data-node-ref=\"tmz:image-asset:image_jpg_20251018_12cdca05a26541ddbeb97595c857fde3\" data-container-ref=\"tmz:article:bcf000ef-4844-409a-b7de-2b72293e2074\" data-context=\"{&quot;section&quot;:&quot;permalink&quot;,&quot;name&quot;:&quot;image&quot;}\"><\/p>\n<p>                          <img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/12cdca05a26541ddbeb97595c857fde3_md.jpg\" alt=\"aaron phypers sub getty swipe\" width=\"728\" height=\"546\" class=\"img-fluid image-block__img-fluid img-aspect-auto\"\/><\/p>\n<p>                  <\/a><\/p>\n<p>Rupert filed a lawsuit against Aaron for alleged fraud and breach of contract in November 2024, claiming Elina met Aaron &#8212; who was running a wellness center at the time &#8212; in June 2023 when her normal cancer treatments were not working.<\/p>\n<p><a id=\"continued\" class=\"continued-anchor\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Rupert claims Aaron told Elina his center offered a stem cell treatment for her cancer that could cure, or at least \u201cameliorate,\u201d her condition &#8230; allegedly promising a 98% success rate and a 50% refund if the treatment didn\u2019t work.<\/p>\n<p>Rupert said Elina\u2019s treatment at Aaron&#8217;s center did not work &#8230; so she asked for a $63K refund, which was half of what she spent.<\/p>\n<p>According to the lawsuit, Aaron gave Elina the run-around and never refunded the money before she passed.<\/p>\n<p>A source close to Aaron claims his wellness center was the middleman, and he was not personally liable for the refund.\u00a0But now it looks like he&#8217;ll have to deal with the default judgment against him.<\/p>\n<p>As TMZ previously reported, Aaron and Denise are still in the middle of a bitter court battle.
