The latest New York Giants<\/a> NFL draft rumors once again surround one man: Notre Dame star running back Jeremiyah Love.<\/p>\n During an NFL draft \u201cbuzz\u201d article on March 27<\/a>, ESPN draft insiders Matt Miller, Field Yates, and Jordan Reid discussed the topic of Love and if the Tennessee Titans<\/a> would select him at No. 5 overall. The responses were mixed, but Miller\u2019s thoughts included a telling note about the Giants<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cYes, they could and should take Love at No. 4,\u201d Miller began, regarding Tennessee.<\/p>\n \u201cThe Titans were aggressive enough in free agency to enter the draft without a must-pick position here,\u201d the ESPN draft expert explained. \u201cLove is the type of transcendent prospect who the Titans can build their offense around, giving quarterback Cam Ward<\/a> a viable threat in the run and pass game.\u201d<\/p>\n Finally, Miller closed with the aforementioned Giants<\/a> rumor.<\/p>\n \u201cFrom what I\u2019ve heard, if Love falls past Tennessee, the Giants<\/a> will likely take him at No. 5,\u201d Miller relayed confidently.<\/p>\n Needless to say, this statement will certainly spark more uproar from the NYG community.<\/p>\n Latest Jeremiyah Love NFL Draft Rumors Confirm Worst Fears of Most Giants Fans GettyWill the New York Giants<\/a> draft Notre Dame running back Jeremiyah Love?<\/p>\n Is the Giants\u2019 interest in Love a massive smoke screen? It\u2019s possible veteran head coach John Harbaugh has led the media on a wild goose chase, but all of the draft chatter has said the opposite, and the story has puzzled Big Blue supporters from the get-go.<\/p>\n Following the Saquon Barkley<\/a> selection and eventual fallout, a large contingent of Giants<\/a> fans remains adamant that spending the fifth overall selection on a running back would be foolish.<\/p>\n Modern-day team building would suggest waiting on the RB position, and the current Giants<\/a> roster is proof of that. Big Blue\u2019s offense has operated well behind both fourth-round pick Cam Skattebo<\/a> and fifth-round pick Tyrone Tracy Jr.<\/a> in recent starting stints.<\/p>\n Skattebo was especially effective before his injury, and Tracy has shown flashes of potential.<\/p>\n No fan is denying that Love is more talented than both Skattebo and Tracy, but the argument is that there are other \u2014 more important \u2014 needs on this roster. And that argument is hard to disagree with.<\/p>\n The Giants could use help at cornerback, wide receiver, offensive line, defensive line, linebacker, and safety. The only positions they don\u2019t really need a top draft pick at are quarterback, tight end, edge rusher, and running back \u2014 although the case can be made that a team can never have too many edge rushers and running backs.<\/p>\n Still, one is considered a premium position, and the other is not. This has created a major divide between most fans and this red-hot NFL<\/a> draft rumor connecting Jeremiyah Love to the Giants.<\/p>\n Will the Titans Draft Jeremiyah Love?<\/p>\n Assuming the Love-Giants rumors are true, the one saving grace for fans could be the Titans. Tennessee has been linked to Love ever since the first couple of weeks of free agency, where head coach Robert Saleh and GM Mike Borgonzi spent big money on several other positions.<\/p>\n You already heard from Miller above; below were Yates and Reid\u2019s differing opinions on whether the Titans should draft Love at No. 4 overall.<\/p>\n Yates: \u201cThey absolutely could. Tennessee\u2019s busy offseason has opened the board up, as it added all over its defense and signed wide receiver Wan\u2019Dale Robinson<\/a> to a four-year deal. Love is my No. 2 prospect, and many NFL executives and scouts believe he is Tennessee\u2019s most likely pick. With that said, what other teams think the Titans are going to do doesn\u2019t mean much. This will come down to whether Tennessee is confident in the rest of its roster.\u201d<\/p>\n Reid: \u201cLove is my No. 1 prospect in this class, but I just don\u2019t see it happening. General manager Mike Borgonzi joined Tennessee after 16 seasons in Kansas City, where the Chiefs<\/a> always valued premium positions early.
