Good Samaritan killed at crash scene west of Williams Lake<\/p>\n

A 49-year-old man was tragically killed after stopping to offer assistance at the scene of a two-vehicle collision west of Williams Lake on Wednesday, March 25.<\/p>\n
The Williams Lake RCMP received a report of a collision between two semi-trucks on Highway 20, approximately 25 kilometers west of Williams Lake, at approximately 7:26 p.m.<\/p>\n
Emergency responders attended the scene, where it was determined that one person had died.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhile assisting with efforts to extricate a trapped driver from one of the commercial vehicles, the second commercial vehicle became dislodged and struck the man, resulting in fatal injuries,\u201d BC RCMP Cpl. Brett Urano noted in a news release.<\/p>\n
Family and friends have identified the man as Riske Creek resident Hugh Loring, who leaves behind his wife, Shelly, and sons Brandon and Tanner.<\/p>\n
Tito\u2019s Western Wear in Williams Lake said it would be donating 100 per cent of its profits on Friday, March 27, to Hugh\u2019s family and described him as \u201ca true family man who gave his life helping others.\u201d<\/p>\n
Highway 20 was closed for several hours.<\/p>\n
