{"id":566251,"date":"2026-03-28T09:22:26","date_gmt":"2026-03-28T09:22:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/566251\/"},"modified":"2026-03-28T09:22:26","modified_gmt":"2026-03-28T09:22:26","slug":"charges-laid-after-alleged-stranger-sexual-assault-in-vancouver","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/566251\/","title":{"rendered":"Charges laid after alleged stranger sexual assault in Vancouver"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Charges have been approved after a woman was allegedly sexually assaulted in downtown Vancouver on March 25, the VPD says.<\/p>\n<p>Derek Jason Sangris, 47, has been charged with one count of sexual assault and unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon.<\/p>\n<p>The alleged attack happened after 7 p.m. on Granville Street between Dunsmuir and Pender.<\/p>\n<p>The woman reported that she was groped by a stranger.
