Vancouver \u2013 Charges have been approved after a woman was allegedly sexually assaulted in downtown Vancouver.<\/p>\n
\u00a0At 7:20 p.m. on March 25, the VPD was called to Granville Street between Dunsmuir and Pender, where a woman reported she had been groped by a stranger. Witnesses also reported the suspect had randomly assaulted other people on the street. Upon arrival, police located the suspect and arrested him.<\/p>\n
Derek Jason Sangris, 47, is charged with one count of sexual assault and unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon. Sangris is being held in custody until his next court appearance on April 10.
