The Toronto\u00a0Sceptres\u00a0announced today the signing of forward Anneke\u00a0Rankila, who returns to the team on\u00a0a\u00a0Reserve\u00a0Player contract.\u00a0Toronto\u00a0had a\u00a0reserve spot\u00a0open after\u00a0Kristin\u00a0Della Rovere\u00a0was activated and signed\u00a0to a\u00a0Professional Women\u2019s Hockey League (PWHL)\u00a0Standard Player Agreement on Mar.\u00a018.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
Rankila\u00a0was part of the\u00a0Sceptres\u00a0organization in the 2024-25 season,\u00a0after being\u00a0selected\u00a0by Toronto in the sixth round, 36th overall,\u00a0in\u00a0the 2024 PWHL Draft. She\u00a0appeared\u00a0in three games, eventually\u00a0moving to the\u00a0Reserve Player list\u00a0on Jan. 25, 2025.\u00a0After attending\u00a0Sceptres\u00a0training camp in the fall,\u00a0Rankila\u00a0signed with SDE\u00a0HF\u00a0in the SDHL, recording four assists in seven games,\u00a0and a goal and an assist in six\u00a0recent\u00a0playoff matches.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
The forward from Lino Lakes, MN attended the University of Minnesota Duluth, posting\u00a0the\u00a0best numbers of her NCAA career as a fifth-year player with 30 points in 39 games.
