Calgary police are investigating after two men with gunshot wounds were dropped off at a city hospital early Saturday. It\u2019s not known where or when the shooting occurred.<\/p>\n
CPS Staff Sgt. John Guigon said the shooting was \u201cwithout a doubt\u201d targeted and there is no ongoing danger to the public.<\/p>\n
According to police, the two men were dropped off at a Calgary hospital around 3:30 a.m. Hospital staff alerted police shortly after their arrival, Guigon said.<\/p>\n
Guigon said the victims have not been forthcoming with investigators, making it difficult to determine key details.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have not uncovered the location of the original shooting, nor have we uncovered the reason for the shooting,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cAll we can definitively say is that it was a targeted shooting and that our general community is not in danger.\u201d<\/p>\n
Both victims suffered minor, non-life-threatening injuries.<\/p>\n
Guigon said both victims are members of Calgary\u2019s south Asian community, and investigators are looking at whether the shooting might be related to extortion-related crimes targeting that community.<\/p>\n
\u201cWithout further assistance from the victims, we\u2019re at a loss to say that it is (extortion-related),\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
