The Samsung Galaxy A57<\/a> and Galaxy A37<\/a> will be available from April 9 or 10 (it varies a bit by country) with a starting price of $550 \/ \u20ac530 \/ \u20b963,000 and $450 \/ \u20ac430 \/ \u20b957,000, respectively. Note that during the pre-order period, Samsung offers a free storage upgrade in some regions. How does that sound to you?<\/p>\n

Compared to its predecessor<\/a>, the Galaxy A57 has a slimmer and lighter frame (6.9mm, 179g vs. 7.4mm, 198g) with better water resistance (IP68 vs. IP67). And it has a new chipset, the Exynos 1680, which replaces the 1580. The bezels around the 6.7\u201d 120Hz 1080p+ display are slimmer (the phone is shorter and narrower by 0.7mm), but the display seems the same otherwise.<\/p>\n

The Galaxy A37 shares a lot with the A36<\/a>. It still uses a plastic frame with the same thickness and weight (7.4mm, 196g), though it too received an IP68 rating. And that\u2019s about it.<\/p>\n

We will make the argument that these are the types of phones you get with a discount from your carrier and (usually) a 2-year contract \u2013 so we should probably be comparing them to the Galaxy A55 and A35 instead. Looking at things this way, the list of improvements is longer \u2013 the display is bigger (by 0.1\u201d) and brighter, the battery has faster 45W charging (up from 25W) and both phones are slimmer and lighter than their 2024 counterparts.<\/p>\n

Still, though, for this kind of cash you can have a Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 (OnePlus 15R) or a Snapdragon 8 Elite (Poco F8 Pro). And if you like Exynos or if you prefer One UI, there\u2019s always the Galaxy S25 FE.<\/p>\n

With that in mind, would you buy the Samsung Galaxy A57?<\/p>\n

What about the Galaxy A37 \u2013 it\u2019s cheaper than the A57, but it hasn\u2019t improved as much, so is it a better or a worse deal?<\/p>\n
