Reece Howden<\/a>\u00a0took home the silver medal at the FIS Ski Cross World Cup in G\u00e4llivare, Sweden, the final stop of the 2025-26 campaign.<\/p>\n

Simone Deromedis and Edoardo Zorzi, both from Italy, won gold and bronze respectively.<\/p>\n

Howden had seen Deromedis take the lead at the start of the big final. After managing to catch up in the final turns of the course, a photo finish was needed to separate the two skiers, with the Italian narrowly edging out Howden.<\/p>\n

Among the other Canadians in contention,\u00a0Jared Schmidt<\/a>\u00a0won the small final to finish in fifth while Kristofor Mahler finished 21st.<\/p>\n

Howden thus finishes the 2025-26 season with the Crystal Globe, securing first place in the overall standings with a 311-point lead over his runner-up, the day\u2019s winner.<\/p>\n

In the women\u2019s competition,\u00a0Hannah Schmidt<\/a>\u00a0finished sixth after being eliminated in the semi-finals, while\u00a0Marielle Thompson<\/a>\u00a0finished in 14th place.<\/p>\n

The day before, Howden had also won money, this time behind David Mobaerg of Sweden, achieving back-to-back podiums.<\/p>\n

For her part, Hannah Schmidt also made it onto the podium, deserving of the bronze.<\/p>\n
