Of course, no phone ever launches in perfected form. Bugs and issues are bound to happen.

Below are some of the common problems that could occur with your Pixel 10a, though many of them are applicable to other Pixel and Android phones in general.

Editor’s note: It’s important to remember that not every Samsung Galaxy S26 series smartphone will have these problems. In fact, you might not come across any issues at all.

Pixel 10a owners: Have you had any problems with your device?

21 votes

Yes, I’ve already had some problems.

14%

No, nothing to report yet.

86%

Problem 1: Screen freezing

Joe Maring / Android Authority

Google is aware of the issue and will likely address it through a software update in the near future, but for now, there are some potential workarounds.

Potential solutions:

Some users have found that the problem is resolved after the latest Play System update, though this doesn’t appear to work for everyone.
Another possible option is to roll back to the February 2026 update, though you’ll have to keep it on the older (and potentially more vulnerable) version as re-installing the March 2026 update will just reintroduce the problem.

Problem 2: T-Satellite compatibility problems

Joe Maring / Android Authority

While the Pixel 10a should technically be compatible with T-Mobile’s T-Sat service, there are several users who have reported issues with connecting. Many will see the satellite logo, but it will never actually successfully connect, and it says the network is unavailable.

Unfortunately, there doesn’t seem to be an official fix. That said, it appears this isn’t a massively spread issue. There are a few potential things that could help as well.

Potential solutions:

First, try to uninstall the T-Mobile T-Sat app and services. If this doesn’t work, you’ll want to consider a full factory reset.
That didn’t work? Your best bet is to contact Google for support and potentially for a device exchange.

Problem 3: RCS issues with the Google Pixel 10a

Joe Maring / Android Authority

Just like with the Pixel 10, some Pixel 10a users have reported issues getting RCS to work properly when they first switch over. Thankfully, this is actually pretty easy to fix, as it’s almost always down to the fact that you were using RCS on a previous device and it didn’t transfer seamlessly.

Potential solutions:

If RCS was active on your previous device, turn it off before setting up your new one. Open Messages, tap More Options, go to Settings, select RCS Chats, and tap Turn Off RCS Chats.
No longer have your old phone? Google offers an online form where you can enter your number to receive a verification code and remotely disable RCS on the previous device.
If neither option applies, you may not need to do anything at all. RCS typically deprovisions from an old device and re-registers on a new one within about a day on its own.

Problem 4: Android Auto issues, including poor performance or connectivity issues

Andy Walker / Android Authority

Android Auto has improved considerably in recent years, but connection issues and sluggish performance still crop up on new devices from time to time. Some Pixel 10a owners have reported the app being unresponsive or slow to update information.

Potential solutions:

Start by checking that Android Auto is fully up to date and that all your cables are connected correctly.
If updating doesn’t help, a factory reset has worked for some users as a last resort. This is covered in the steps below, but it’s worth exhausting other options first, given how disruptive it is.

Guides: How to factory reset, boot into Safe Mode, wipe cache partition on Pixel 10

Joe Maring / Android Authority

Below are some simple guides that you’ll need to know to properly troubleshoot your Pixel 10a.

How to boot into Safe Mode on the Pixel 10a

This step is often useful if you are running into an error and want to see if the problem is due to an app. If everything works as it should, then you have your answer. To boot into Safe Mode, follow these steps:

If the phone is responsive, press and hold the power button and then long-press the power off icon that pops up. Another message will give you the option to reboot the phone into Safe Mode.
If the phone is off, press and hold the power button to turn it on. As soon as the Google logo appears, press the volume key and hold it until the animation ends. The phone will automatically reboot into Safe Mode after this.
To exit Safe Mode, simply press the power button and select Restart.

How to clear an app’s cache on the Pixel 10a

If an app isn’t working right, one way to fix the problem is to try clearing its app cache. If this doesn’t work, you’ll often have to uninstall and reinstall. Here’s what you need to do:

First, you’ll want to open Settings.
Next, go to Apps > See All Apps.
Tap the app you are trying to fix, and select Storage & Cache.
Tap Clear Cache. This will delete all temporary files for the app.

How to wipe the cache partition on the Pixel 10a

C. Scott Brown / Android Authority

In some cases, you’ll be instructed to wipe the cache partition on the Pixel 10 in order to resolve a bigger issue. Here’s what you’ll want to do:

Go to Recovery mode using the volume keys for navigation and tap the power button to select.
When the Android robot screen appears, press and hold the Power button, then press the Volume up button once, and release both buttons. This will bring up the Recovery menu.
In the Recovery menu, use the volume buttons to navigate to Wipe cache partition. Press the power button to select it.
Use the Volume buttons to highlight Yes, and press the Power button to confirm.
Once the cache partition is wiped, the recovery menu will return to the main screen. Select Reboot system now by pressing the power button.

How to Factory Reset the Pixel 10a

If all else fails, it’s time to factory reset your device. How you do it depends on whether your phone is on and working, or not.

If the phone is already on

Go to Settings > System > Reset options.
Select Erase all data (factory reset) and tap Reset phone.
Hit Erase all data, then follow the prompts to confirm, such as entering your lock-screen PIN or pattern.

When the phone is off or unresponsive

Press and hold the power and volume down keys at the same time until Fastboot mode (triangle with an exclamation point) appears.
Go to Recovery mode using the volume keys for navigation and tap the power button to select.
Using the volume keys, go to factory data reset.
Once the phone is reset, hit Reboot system now.

Have you come across any Google Pixel 10a problems we aren’t aware of yet?
