Vancouver was recently crowned Canada\u2019s hottest hotel market<\/a> as the busy travel season nears, and one bed and breakfast with just eight rooms has topped a new list of best spots to stay in the city.<\/p>\n

National Geographic Traveller recently curated its list of 10 of the best hotels in Vancouver.<\/p>\n

\u201cBold, design-led renovations, chic rooftop bars, intimate hideaways and timeless icons prove Vancouver\u2019s hospitality is as wonderfully varied as its surrounding landscapes,\u201d said National Geographic in its introduction.<\/p>\n

Coming in at number one was O Canada House, a downtown bed-and-breakfast constructed in 1897 that was chosen for its warm hospitality.<\/p>\n

\u201cWith just eight rooms, O Canada House feels more like a country inn than a downtown B&B,\u201d stated National Geographic.<\/p>\n

\u201cYet this meticulously restored Victorian home \u2014 supposedly where the country\u2019s national anthem was first written \u2014 channels small-town Canadian charm to create a calm, characterful hideaway in Vancouver\u2019s vibrant West End.\u201d<\/p>\n

The \u201cCity of Vancouver Heritage Award of Honour\u201d winner is located at 1114 Barclay St., just a short walk from Nelson Park.<\/p>\n

O Canada House features comfortable rooms with antique decor, a 24\/7 guest pantry filled with complimentary home-baked treats, a tree-shaded garden deck and a communal lounge.<\/p>\n

\u201cA welcome home-away-from-home in the heart of the city,\u201d added National Geographic.<\/p>\n

Number two on the best hotels in Vancouver list was the Wedgewood Hotel & Spa, which got a shout-out for its celebrity guests like Sean Connery and Pierce Brosnan.<\/p>\n

\u201cAt its heart is Bacchus, once a discreet spot for city judges to smoke cigars, now an intimate lounge and restaurant soundtracked by crackling fireplaces.<\/p>\n

\u201cUpstairs, 83 rooms range from elegant executive queens to chic penthouse suites overlooking Robson Square, with renovations rolling out through 2026 bringing a bright, airy refresh.\u201d<\/p>\n

In third place on National Geographic\u2019s list was AZUR Legacy Collection Hotel, a Vancouver hotel highlighted in part due to its rooftop dining offerings.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn a city framed by such dramatic scenery, it\u2019s surprising that Vancouver is home to only a few rooftop bars.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe pick is Lavantine Restaurant & Skybar, a colourful oasis atop the Azur Legacy Collection Hotel in the city\u2019s high-rise financial district. Here, Eastern Mediterranean plates are given a west coast twist, as fire-roasted chicken wings served with blue cheese labneh.\u201d<\/p>\n
