{"id":569038,"date":"2026-03-29T17:21:07","date_gmt":"2026-03-29T17:21:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/569038\/"},"modified":"2026-03-29T17:21:07","modified_gmt":"2026-03-29T17:21:07","slug":"flyers-sign-porter-martone-to-entry-level-contract","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/569038\/","title":{"rendered":"Flyers sign Porter Martone to entry-level contract"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg\">The <a class=\"text-secondary underline underline-offset-2\" hreflang=\"en\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dailyfaceoff.com\/teams\/philadelphia-flyers\/line-combinations\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Philadelphia Flyers <\/a>announced on Sunday that they have signed top prospect Porter Martone to a three-year, entry-level contract.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg\">Martone, who delivered a stellar freshman season at the NCAA level with the Michigan State Spartans, was the team\u2019s selection with the No. 6 overall pick in the 2025 NHL Draft.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg\">Daily Faceoff Associate Editor and Prospect Analyst Steven Ellis ranked Martone as the <a class=\"text-secondary underline underline-offset-2\" hreflang=\"en\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dailyfaceoff.com\/news\/2025-26-nhl-prospect-pool-breakdown-philadelphia-flyers-top-10-martone-luchanko-bonk\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">No. 1 prospect in the Flyers\u2019 system<\/a> in August, and he\u2019s only cemented his standing as that in the past eight months.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg\">\u201cMartone is going to look like a steal at No. 6,\u201d Ellis wrote. \u201cHe had arguably the best vision from the 2025 NHL Draft class and has some of the best offensive IQ, too. While his skating might lack and some scouts wish he\u2019d be more physical, everyone agrees that\u00a0<a class=\"text-secondary underline underline-offset-2\" hreflang=\"en\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dailyfaceoff.com\/news\/2025-nhl-draft-porter-martone-scouting-report-prospect-profile-ncaa-brampton-steelheads-ohl\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">he\u2019s one of the smartest players in this draft class<\/a>.
