Is this accurate? If so, the citizens of Surrey need to know who is writing these planning reports.

It is reasonable to ask city council how this apartment project, called “Vivere,” which includes “children’s play space” and an indoor kids playroom, will house only seven school-aged children. I note further that the article states that no public hearing took place prior to the project being approved.

Richard Evans

(Note: We reached out to Surrey Schools for an explanation of how estimates are calculated and received this reply: “Surrey Schools tracks historical data on how many students are enrolled from the various housing types across the city, gathered in partnership with the City of Surrey. This data informs predictions for new developments. Our formulas are reviewed annually, and while any one development may have slightly more or less students than predicted, on average we are quite accurate.” In this case, a city report notes the district also advised that the number of anticipated school-age children is greater than the expected enrolment in the local school district, due to students attending private schools, home school or different school districts.)

LETTER: Surrey’s school enrolment estimates seem off-base Published 6:00 pm Monday, March 30, 2026 Editor, In the Feb.…

[194299
49,48,87674
post-571998","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-surrey","tag-ca","tag-canada","tag-surrey
["GET
