{"id":572100,"date":"2026-03-31T03:44:11","date_gmt":"2026-03-31T03:44:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/572100\/"},"modified":"2026-03-31T03:44:11","modified_gmt":"2026-03-31T03:44:11","slug":"saskatoon-blades-return-from-edmonton-to-take-on-oil-kings-in-game-3-saskatoon","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/572100\/","title":{"rendered":"Saskatoon Blades return from Edmonton to take on Oil Kings in Game 3 &#8211; Saskatoon"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The first-in-a-generation post-season series between the Edmonton Oilers and the <a href=\"https:\/\/globalnews.ca\/tag\/saskatoon-blades\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Saskatoon Blades<\/a> is returning to SaskTel Centre following a strong away opening to the series.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/70c8fc80.png\" alt=\"\" style=\"position:absolute;width:1px;height:1px\" referrerpolicy=\"no-referrer-when-downgrade\"\/><\/p>\n<p>The Blades won game one, 3-2.<\/p>\n<p>The second game was less fortune for the Blades as the Oil Kings got one over them in a nail-biting overtime, securing the second game 4-3.<\/p>\n<p>The Oil Kings have put up a strong and physical offensive challenge against the Blades, but Blades captain Tyler Parr is undeterred.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe can win this thing, we\u2019re probably the underdogs, people say that from the outside. There\u2019s a lot of people that said before the series. I don\u2019t know how many said we\u2019d win this series, but we can win this series. There\u2019s two home games here, a lot of juice, a lot of energy, we\u2019re ready to go,\u201d said Parr<\/p>\n<p>Story continues below advertisement<\/p>\n<p>Both games were standout openings for Blades centreman Hayden Harsanyi. \u201cI like to pride myself on being a playoff player,\u201d he said. \u201cI\u2019ve always kind of been that through minor hockey U15, U18. In the second game, three of the four Edmonton goals scored were on the blades penalty kill.<\/p>\n<p>Coach Dan DaSilva says the Blades need to focus on not taking bad penalties.<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\t\tMore on Sports<br \/>\n\t\t\tMore videos\n\t\t<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe issue I have is it\u2019s just too many times,\u201d DaSilva said. \u201cThey\u2019re getting too many reps, too many looks and our penalty killers are getting worn down, so we have to be more disciplined, there\u2019s no doubt about that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Blades, likewise, were struggling to capitalize on their own power play.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe understand that they have the best penalty kill in the conference, right? So it\u2019s a tough test. They do a great job with their PK over there. So you got to give them credit,\u201d DaSilva continued.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey make it hard on us, but we\u2019ll find a way to break through. We have a lot of tweaks we can make, too.
