Six people from Mississauga, Brampton and Paris, Ontario have been arrested as part of a police investigation into the theft of tractor-trailers.<\/p>\n

Waterloo Regional Police say on March 23, search warrants were carried out in Kitchener and Hamilton, where officers seized several items, including:<\/p>\n

A stolen tractor-trailer
\nDevices used to steal commercial motor vehicles
\nElectronic global positioning system (GPS) locating device
\nElectronic telecommunications signal jamming device
\nTracking devices
\nSuspected heroin
\nSuspect methamphetamine<\/p>\n

As a result of the investigation, six adult males from Brampton, Mississauga and Paris were arrested and jointly charged with a total of 61 charges, including:<\/p>\n

Possession of stolen property over $5,000
\nMotor vehicle theft (organized crime)
\nExtortion
\nPossession of automobile master key
\nPossession of break-and-enter tools
\nDangerous driving
\nAssault with a weapon
\nConspiracy to commit
\nPossession for the purpose of trafficking<\/p>\n

All of the accused were held for a bail hearing.<\/p>\n

Police have not released their names.<\/p>\n

The investigation is ongoing.<\/p>\n
