{"id":573072,"date":"2026-03-31T14:47:08","date_gmt":"2026-03-31T14:47:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/573072\/"},"modified":"2026-03-31T14:47:08","modified_gmt":"2026-03-31T14:47:08","slug":"anthia-drive-house-fire-leaves-man-woman-critically-injured-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/573072\/","title":{"rendered":"Anthia Drive house fire leaves man, woman critically injured"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Investigators will be probing the circumstances surrounding an early morning house fire in North York that left two people dead. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">The fire broke out at a detached home on Anthia Drive, located near Islington and Steeles avenues, at around 4 a.m. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">\u201cUpon our arrival, our crews were met with heavy smoke conditions, they forced their way into the house, started their primary search, and immediately found two elderly occupants in the house,\u201d Toronto Fire Chief Jim Jessop told reporters at the scene on Tuesday morning. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Life-saving measures were attempted on the front lawn of the home before the two occupants were transported to hospital by paramedics. <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" data-chromatic=\"ignore\" alt=\"\" class=\"c-image\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/1774968428_66_3PFMUYSDA5EQRGAYCZ5T3CDDHE.jpg\"  width=\"800\" height=\"600\"\/>house, fire, Anthia A man and woman were pulled from a house fire in North York early Tuesday morning.
