{"id":573078,"date":"2026-03-31T14:51:57","date_gmt":"2026-03-31T14:51:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/573078\/"},"modified":"2026-03-31T14:51:57","modified_gmt":"2026-03-31T14:51:57","slug":"cooksville-creek-erosion-control-at-camilla-road-city-of-mississauga","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/573078\/","title":{"rendered":"Cooksville Creek Erosion Control at Camilla Road \u2013 City of Mississauga"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Overview<\/p>\n<p>Cooksville Creek originates in the industrial lands north of Highway 403 before flowing through the study area at Camilla Road and ultimately discharging to Lake Ontario at Helen Molasy Memorial Park.<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-51564\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/Camilla-Road-Cooksville-Creek-Erosion-Control-Study-Area.png\" alt=\"An aerial map view of Camilla Road at Cooksville Creek. \" width=\"1459\" height=\"988\"  \/>Camilla Road Cooksville Creek Erosion Control study area<\/p>\n<p>This section of Cooksville Creek, which spans 200 metres, consists of an engineered channel constructed approximately 30 to 40 years ago with areas of stone-filled gabion basket walls and concrete-lined channel.<\/p>\n<p>The channel is no longer functioning as intended and is posing a risk to infrastructure, property and the environment. Through the PIC, the project team presented the alternative solutions and the preliminary recommended solution identified for Cooksville Creek to the public for review. The presentation is available within the project documents section.<\/p>\n<p>Project File<\/p>\n<p>A\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.mississauga.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/2021-028-Cooksville-Project-File_Feb-2024.pdf\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Project File<\/a> has been prepared to document the planning, decision-making and consultation process for this study.
