\n\tConnor Storrie<\/a> is giving \u201cScream\u201d vibes in a new film campaign for Verizon<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\n\tDirected by Nia DaCosta, the almost five-minute short, \u201cLook Behind You,\u201d features the \u201cHeated Rivalry\u201d star arriving at a secluded \u2014 what else? \u2014 cottage in the woods. While cooking dinner and reading a script, the house stereo seemingly goes on by itself as do some lights and the alarm system. Wandering around the cottage, Storrie looks worried as if he\u2019s thinking something sinister may happen. The horror movie-like soundtrack adds to the eerie feeling.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe camera also happens to continually linger on Storrie\u2019s denim clad backside.<\/p>\n

\n\tA knock on the door reveals a man in a rain slicker \u2013 think \u201cI Know What You Did Last Summer\u201d \u2013 who tells Connor he\u2019s his rideshare driver. A confused Storrie looks at his phone and realizes that he butt-dialed the ride request, as well as butt-dialed turning on the stereo, setting off the alarm and so on.<\/p>\n

\n\tAs he catches a glimpse of his backside in a mirror, words in big red letters pop-up on the screen. First, it\u2019s \u201cThe Best Butt\u201d followed by \u201cThe Best Network\u201d before ending with \u201cThere\u2019s No Escape.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tStorrie then turns to the camera and says, \u201cService so good, it\u2019s scary.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cFrom the concept to execution, this was an incredibly collaborative and creatively fulfilling experience,\u201d Storrie said in a statement Tuesday morning. \u201cVerizon is a brand that really understands storytelling and culture, so they fully leaned into the idea. And working with visionary director Nia DaCosta took everything to another level.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tStorrie and DaCosta first had Hollywood observers whispering about what the two might be up to when they attended this year\u2019s Vanity Fair Oscar party together. \u201cI had such a great time working with Connor and making this spot for Verizon,\u201d DaCosta said. \u201cThe team was amazing and we had so much fun bringing this to life.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tVerizon touts the project as Storrie\u2019s \u201cfirst brand film\u201d and DaCosta\u2019s \u201cfirst brand project.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThe collaboration and creative process was pure magic,\u201d Verizon EVP and CMO Leslie Berland said. \u201cWe set out to bring Verizon\u2019s network to life in a way that\u2019s bold and unexpected, and we\u2019re thrilled with the result. Nia is an absolute artist, and Connor is simply a phenomenon.\u201d<\/p>\n
