Bonchon means \u201chometown\u201d in Korean, which is only fitting as it\u2019s opened its first location in the owners\u2019 hometown: Edmonton. This independently owned and operated brand is fully Canadian, serving up chicken with distinct flavours and recipes.<\/p>\n
It\u2019s not only a place that focuses just on the food, but it\u2019s a restaurant which provides service with care and is created by people who have found a way to honour their hometown.<\/p>\n
A great thing we noticed about Bonchon is its commitment to serving and uplifting the local community. The owners give one per cent back to the community<\/a>, \u201csupporting the people and places that make our hometown special.\u201d<\/p>\n Being locally owned and operated, this chicken shop has so much to offer in terms of food, atmosphere, and service.<\/p>\n Its doors officially opened in late March 2026, and we couldn\u2019t be more excited. The location is great as well, sitting right on 124th Street with an amazing, vibrant district surrounding it.<\/p>\n Delving into the menu, there\u2019s obviously the famed Korean fried chicken, coming in wing, leg, or tender form, not to mention chicken sandwiches as well. There\u2019s also bulgogi bowls, sides like street corn and pickled radish, four unique house-made sauces, and a whole bunch of beverages to choose from.<\/p>\n You\u2019ll be happy to know that Bonchon is open every single day of the week. From 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., you can get your dose of fried chicken and fries to-go or for dining in. Get ready to stuff your face, because you won\u2019t be able to get enough.<\/p>\n If you\u2019re riding along in the 124th Street area, we couldn\u2019t recommend going to Bonchon enough.
