Long weekends are all about venturing outside of the city and making the most of any time off. And now that the weather is taking a warm and sunny turn<\/a>, there\u2019s no reason why you can\u2019t explore somewhere new. All that\u2019s left is to hop in a car and drive.<\/p>\n

Here are some of the best spontaneous day trips you can take from Vancouver over the Easter long weekend.<\/p>\n

Let\u2019s start with the closest spot to the city. One of the\u00a0most scenic places in the Lower Mainland<\/a>, Deep Cove is especially popular for paddleboard and kayak enthusiasts, who can paddle their way through the sheltered harbour into the Indian Arm. But there\u2019s no wrong way to relax here. Grab a Honey\u2019s donut, lounge on the beach, or head up to Quarry Rock to take in the spectacular views from above.<\/p>\n

Bowen Island is the perfect day trip destination if you physically want to leave the mainland, but can\u2019t score ferry tickets to Vancouver Island. Or if beachcombing is more your thing, there are plenty of natural, rocky beaches to check out.<\/p>\n

Food. Art. Craft beer. Waterfalls galore. Squamish is a cornerstone for all things outdoors, but there\u2019s also plenty to do if you just want to hang out without the climbing or hiking equipment. Grab a coffee and do some thrift shopping in Squamish\u2019s quaint downtown, head to Backcountry Brewing, or check out the views from the famous\u00a0Sea-to-Sky Gondola<\/a>.<\/p>\n
