\n\tScream<\/a> 8 is in development at Spyglass, so get ready for another Ghostface \u2014 or more.<\/p>\n

\n\tLilla and Nora Zuckerman, better known as the Zuckerman sisters, are set to write the eighth installment of the long-standing slasher franchise created by Kevin Williamson<\/a>, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Zuckerman sisters previously served as showrunners for season one of Peacock\u2019s Poker Face, starring Natasha Lyonne. They have also worked as writers and executive producers on series including Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Suits, Fringe and Prodigal Son. <\/p>\n

\n\tThe development follows the success of Scream 7<\/a>, released Feb. 27, which became the highest-grossing film in the franchise<\/a>, earning more than $200 million worldwide. It was also the first installment to be released in Imax theaters<\/a>. <\/p>\n

\n\tScream 7 marked the return of Williamson, who stepped into the director\u2019s chair. The film also saw the return of its final girl, Neve Campbell<\/a> \u2014 who did not appear in Scream VI due to salary disputes \u2014 and her teenage daughter Tatum (Isabel May), who is targeted by Ghostface. The screenplay was co-written by Williamson and Guy Busick (Ready or Not films, Abigail). <\/p>\n

\n\tEarlier this month, Williamson made headlines<\/a> saying he likely won\u2019t direct Scream 8. \u201cFor the next\u00a0Scream, I\u2019ll probably step back and just be a part of the family again,\u201d he told Hello Sidney. <\/p>\n

\n\tShortly after the film premiered, Anna Camp, who appeared in Scream 7, told THR<\/a> she heard chatter about another installment. When asked, she said: \u201cJust rumors, just rumors. I haven\u2019t heard from anyone specifically that I worked with, like Kevin or Neve but I\u2019ve heard the rumors going around that there\u2019s a Scream 8.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\tAdditional cast members<\/a> included Courteney Cox, Matthew Lillard, Mason Gooding, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Joel McHale, Mckenna Grace<\/a>, Isabel May, Michelle Randolph<\/a>, Ethan Embry, Mark Consuelos, Jimmy Tatro, Celeste O\u2019Connor, Asa Germann and Sam Rechner.<\/p>\n

\n\tLilla and Nora Zuckerman are repped by UTA and Lichter, Grossman, Nichols, Feldman, Rogal, Shikora & Clark.<\/p>\n
