(Nine)<\/p>\n<p>The claims were often accompanied by AI-generated images and misleading articles that appeared to be written with the use of AI.\ufeff<\/p>\n<p>And this isn&#8217;t the first time misinformation spread on AI-based websites have fooled Australians.\ufeff<\/p>\n<p>\ufeffBut nothing will happen to the age pension, which was last adjusted on March 20.<\/p>\n<p>The government hiked the \ufeffage pension last month to reflect cost-of-living pressures.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/https:\/\/vms-network-images-prod.s3-ap-southeast-2.amazonaws.com\/2026\/02\/753874\/pickerimage.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/p>\n<p>It also increased deeming rates on March 20, which affected age pension recipients.<\/p>\n<p>The lower deeming rate rose from 0.75 per cent to 1.25 per cent for financial assets under $64,200 for singles and $106,200 for couples combined.<\/p>\n<p>The upper rate rose from 2.75 per cent to 3.25 per cent for assets over those amounts.<\/p>\n<p>Increased deeming rates may result in a lower age pension for some Australians, as they will affect income tests.<\/p>\n<p>But all of these changes have already come into effect, and no additional updates are planned for April 1.<\/p>\n<p>\ufeffThere are also no new road or licensing rules coming into effect today for drivers over the age of 65.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/https:\/\/prod.static9.net.au\/fs\/4e4fc39e-8f6a-49fd-9285-872c4d288004.jpeg\"   alt=\"Cars and trucks, inbound traffic on the Monash freeway M1. 7th March 2025, \"\/>There are no new road rules coming into effect today, despite AI claims.
