The 2026 NFL Draft is just weeks away and teams throughout the league are setting their sights on the incoming rookie class. For fantasy football managers, some of the top rookies could see their outlook bolstered by their respective team, while others could be hampered from a production standpoint. Let\u2019s look at the most optimal fit for some of the top rookies in this year\u2019s class, including players like Jeremiyah Love and Carnell Tate:\u00a0<\/p>\n

Best fit: Tennessee Titans<\/p>\n

Love is regarded as arguably the top fantasy football prospect in this year\u2019s rookie class<\/a>. The All-American is coming off a dominant 2025 campaign, racking up 1,652 yards and 21 total touchdowns, and is projected to fall off the board within the top-10 picks of the draft. Historically, recent\u00a0 running back prospects taken within the top-10 picks such as Bijan Robinson and Ashton Jeanty have produced early in their respective careers, and Love could be on a similar path. I think Love\u2019s best fit is with the Tennessee Titans at No. 4 overall.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Tennessee has had a busy offseason, overhauling its coaching staff before a busy free agency period, and could pair last year\u2019s No.1 overall pick, Cam Ward, with a dynamic asset in the backfield. Love would join a Titans running back room previously headlined by Tony Pollard, but projects to take over the reins at the position, considering his draft value. Love will carve out a significant role in Brian Daboll\u2019s offense, a scheme that\u2019s shown elite production in the run game, and could have a greater fantasy impact with such a fit.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Makai Lemon, USC (WR)\"Southern<\/p>\n

Best fit: Dallas Cowboys<\/p>\n

Makai Lemon, the reigning Biletnikoff Award winner, is entering the 2026 draft regarded as one of the top wideouts in a talented class at the position. Lemon\u2019s draft projections are relatively vast, and has been mocked as high as the top-10 and as low as the late-20s. He\u2019s coming off an All-American campaign in his final collegiate season, posting 79 catches for 1,156 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns. Lemon, an expected day-one starter at the next level, has been linked to several different teams. I feel his best fit is with the Dallas Cowboys, who own the No. 12 and No. 21 picks, respectively.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Cowboys managed to retain George Pickens with a franchise tag, keeping him paired up with CeeDee Lamb for the foreseeable future. Add Lemon to the mix and you form arguably the top pass-catching trio in the NFL in one of the highest-volume passing attacks in the entire NFL. The consensus first-rounder pairs well with Pickens and Lamb, adding versatility to an already dominant unit. His addition will unquestionably take targets away from Pickens, Lamb and Jake Ferguson, all high-end fantasy assets, but his fit in this talented offense is undeniable.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Carnell Tate, Ohio State (WR)\"Ohio<\/p>\n

Best fit: Kansas City Chiefs<\/p>\n

Carnell Tate, widely regarded as the top receiver prospect<\/a> among the 2026 class, is the next in a long line of first-round receivers to come from Ohio State. Tate spent two of his three seasons as the Buckeyes\u2019 WR2 behind Jeremiah Smith, but possesses all the tools to take over the reins of a receiving corps in an NFL offense. He appeared in 11 games in 2025, hauling in 51 passes for 875 yards and nine touchdowns. Though he\u2019s widely mocked to fall off the board within the first eight picks, I feel his best fit is with the Kansas City Chiefs at No. 9.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Chiefs are optimistic Patrick Mahomes will return early in the 2026 season, and will work to bolster an inconsistent receiving corps over the remainder of the offseason. Rashee Rice has struggled to sustain consistent WR1 production alongside the deep-threat tandem of Xavier Worthy and Tyquan Thornton, missing time throughout his young career. The team could add Tate with the No. 9 pick, potentially landing the top receiver in the class. His route-running ability and versatility will bolster the intermediate passing game, potentially freeing up Worthy and Thornton over the top.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Ty Simpson, Alabama (QB)\"Alabama<\/p>\n

Best fit: Los Angeles Rams<\/p>\n

Coming off a stellar 2025 campaign in his lone collegiate season as a starter, Ty Simpson<\/a> has noticed his stock rise following an impressive Pro Day performance. The Alabama product is widely acknowledged as QB2 in this year\u2019s class behind potential No.1 pick Fernando Mendoza, boasting pro-ready tools and impressive arm talent. Simpson completed 64.5% of his passes for 3,567 yards and 28 touchdowns with five interceptions despite dealing with injuries throughout the season. Though he\u2019s likely to fall off the board in the first round, Simpson could greatly benefit from learning behind an established quarterback for a season or two. For that reason, I think the Los Angeles Rams present the most ideal fit for Simpson at the next level.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Rams are searching for the heir to Matthew Stafford\u2019s throne. The future Hall of Famer is coming off a MVP campaign in 2025, but is entering his 18th NFL season at 38 years old. Simpson wouldn\u2019t offer much, if any fantasy upside early in his professional career, but will be set up for success in a talented offense with one of the top coaching staffs in the league. With a few years of development behind Stafford, he could lead the next era of Rams football alongside the likes of Puka Nacua and Kyren Williams.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Kenyon Sadiq, Oregon (TE)\"Oregon<\/p>\n

Best fit: Baltimore Ravens<\/p>\n

Kenyon Sadiq is entering draft season as the consensus top tight end prospect<\/a> in this year\u2019s class, following a stellar 2025 campaign and historic NFL Combine performance. Sadiq hauled in 51 passes for 560 yards and eight touchdowns for the Oregon Ducks a season ago, prior to running a record-setting 4.39 40-yard dash at the combine. His remarkable athleticism and unique skill set will help him contribute early in his NFL career, and his output could be optimized in the Baltimore Ravens\u2019 offense at No. 14 overall.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Ravens suffered a pivotal loss in the passing game with Isaiah Likely\u2019s departure in free agency, creating a void among the unit. Baltimore could fill Likely\u2019s role with a tremendous prospect, pairing him alongside former Pro Bowler Mark Andrews. Andrews has flashed signs of regression leading up to his ninth season, creating additional need at the position. Sadiq adds a dynamic threat to Baltimore\u2019s passing attack and could carve out a greater share of the target volume compared to Likely during his Ravens tenure.\u00a0<\/p>\n
