One of Canada’s top emerging tennis talents looks to be adding some experience to her coaching staff. <\/p>\n
Raonic announced back in January that he was retiring from playing. He last competed at the Paris 2024 Olympics, where he was eliminated in the first round.<\/p>\n
The 35-year-old was a former No. 3 player in the world, having won eight ATP Tour titles and reached the final of the 2016 Wimbledon Championships.<\/p>\n
Mboko is currently the ninth-ranked player on the WTA Tour and was recently eliminated in the quarterfinals of the Miami Open, losing to Karolina Muchova.<\/p>\n
The 19-year-old had a breakout season in 2025, winning the National Bank Open in Montreal and finishing the year ranked 18th.<\/p>\n
Mboko lost to world No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka in the Australian Open but bounced back to beat No. 7 Mirra Andreeva and No. 3 Elena Rybakina at the Qatar Open to earn her first back-to-back wins over top-10 players.
