This doesn’t change from the current system.
Bi-weekly yard waste collection for the entire season (mid-March to mid-December). This marks a change from the current weekly yard waste collection schedule that operates from mid-March to June and again from October to mid-December.
Recycling collection for select Mississauga locations that don’t receive collection from Circular Materials. This is also part of the current collection system.

Mississauga officials said in a news release late Wednesday the new plan might change the collection day for some residents (for garbage and organics), but those impacted in that way will receive plenty of notice.

Waste collection services starting in 2027 will include the picking up of residential garbage, organics and yard waste and providing services for multi-residential buildings, the city said.

Community Recycling Centres will still be run by the Region of Peel while recycling pickup from the curb will continue to be handled by Circular Materials, which took over that service in January.

The city said switching to a five‑day residential waste collection schedule “will create efficiencies by reducing the number of trucks and labour needed to complete the routes.
