Courtney Love<\/a> and Billy Corgan<\/a> have been friends, enemies, lovers, and everything in between. But throughout their tumultuous relationship, they\u2019ve always been able to agree on one thing: hating Kim Gordon. Love guested on Corgan\u2019s podcast, The Magnificent Others, and reviving Woodstock \u201994\u2013era beef seemed as good a thing to talk about as that Hole reunion<\/a> Love keeps edging us with. \u201cShe was really horrible in the \u201990s,\u201d Love said of Gordon. \u201cI remember in Holland I was hanging out with you, and they [Sonic Youth] were so mean.\u201d Love also claims the line \u201cforever in debt to your priceless advice\u201d in Nirvana\u2019s \u201cHeart-Shaped Box\u201d is a dig at Gordon and her puritanical punk ethics.<\/p>\n Gordon came up because Love was talking about her friendship with Lana Del Rey<\/a>. Both Del Rey and Love get slammed in Gordon\u2019s book, Girl in a Band<\/a>. Gordon said Love had \u201ctarantula L.A. glamour \u2014 sociopathy, narcissism.\u201d Of Del Rey, Gordon originally wrote<\/a>, \u201cIf she really truly believes it\u2019s beautiful when young musicians go out on a hot flame of drugs and depression, why doesn\u2019t she just off herself?\u201d That line got changed to the less vitriolic \u201cDoes she truly believe it\u2019s beautiful when young musicians go out on a hot flame of drugs and depression, or is it just her persona?\u201d when the book hit shelves. Love says Del Rey asked, \u201cWho is Kim Gordon?\u201d at the time. \u201cA question, by the way, billions are still asking,\u201d Corgan replies.<\/p>\n Corgan\u2019s in the memoir too. \u201cCourtney asked us for advice about her \u2018secret affair\u2019 with Billy Corgan,\u201d Gordon writes. \u201cI thought,\u00a0Ewwww, at even the mention of Billy Corgan, whom nobody liked because he was such a crybaby, and Smashing Pumpkins took themselves way too seriously and were in no way punk rock.\u201d<\/p>\n Who is or is not punk rock is still something Love and Corgan deny Gordon the right to arbitrate.
